A study in proportion,
balance, and daily ritual.
American white oak, brass, and a custom mechanism. Designed for the kitchen. Built for generations.
Natural
White oak left as it came, oiled by hand. The grain lightens where a hand holds it and darkens everywhere else.
Both finishes take the same solid brass collar and cap, and the same mechanism.
The first run is small.
No deposit, no obligation. Leave an address and we will write once, when The Mill is ready — nothing else.
Heavy enough to stay where it is put.
Ten inches tall, turned so the waist falls where a hand closes. The grind adjusts from the cap, not the base, so it can be set without lifting it off the table.
A mechanism specified for grind, not for cost — and replaceable, because the wood will outlast it.
The Mill is guaranteed for life against defects in material and workmanship. If something fails because of how it was made, the studio will repair or replace it.
The mechanism is a wearing part and is replaceable — send the mill back and it is refitted at cost, for as long as we are making them. Ordinary wear, marks, and the darkening of oak and brass are not faults; they are the object doing what it was designed to do.
Repairs and refits are arranged by writing to studio@kvn.studio.
